The mother of the team by ensuring the process is followed, the tools are used and roadblocks are cleared away.
The idea team is 3 to 7 people in size and it is important to keep the same people in the team to ensure optimum velocity.
The team will undergo various stages in development:
Forming – unable and unwilling to work together;
Storming – unable but willing to move forward, team cohesion starts to form;
Norming – able and willing but lack confidence in their abilities;
Performing – able, willing and confident and now have a self-managing team which is cross functional, manages technical risk, enjoys collective ownership, committed, able to estimate the work and develops the high priority features.
Subject matter experts brought in when necessary and not part of the core team.
